This is what MT-CONNECT and MedTech Summit 2018 have to offer.
UX in medical technology: Process and Potential of User Centered (Medical) Design
User Centered Design leads to products which successfully target real user needs and are easy to use. Real project examples from the medical field illustrate the method from ideation to approval. Of course, hints for a standard-compliant documentation (IEC 62366) are also included.
Many medical incidents occur because of usage errors. Listeners of this presentation are learning about the benefits of a user centered approach and how to implement these methods into their company. The continouus integration of real users into the development of medical devices not only improves usability, but also product safety and user experience as a whole.
This presentation gives examples from various projects and different project stages where users gave valuable feedback that led to better products. This includes consumer devices like a continouous blood glucose monitor, life support equipement like a lung function monitor, an AR-based navigation system for neurosurgeons and a documentation software for sterilisation processes. The project stages include ideation at the beginning of the product development, interface concept and design as well as approval consulting with formative and summative evaluations.
Hints on how to document these steps for the following approval (IEC 62366) compliment the program.
