The prototype injection moulding process at Solidtec is ideal for producing small volumes of parts. The advantages: simplified procedure, more efficiency, significant time savings and cost reduction.
Frequently, clients require only a small number of parts. The injection moulding process, however, takes quite a bit of time and is costly. That’s why Solidtec offers prototype injection moulding. During the design phase, the injection moulding forms are specially constructed for a small-volume output. Following the motto “less is more”, Solidtec has integrated many features of series production into the modular mould unit, like a cooling component and an ejector system. That ultimately means simpler tool inserts, more efficiency during production.
To save money, in the interest of our customers, constructors carrying out the injection moulding at Solidtec have decided against using slides. The demoulding of undercuts is done with insert parts.
There are even more advantages to working with this method. Trials using various gate positions can be conducted with relatively little effort. By doing this, the optimal cavity fill can be determined – it’s quick, reliable and cost efficient.
