The Federal Government provides information for innovators
The Federal Government, as represented by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) together with the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), is presenting its tasks and activities regarding all aspects of the topic of innovation funding in medical technology. In this regard, the focus is on funding measures that are specifically tailored to the medical technology industry, such as “SME Innovative: Medical Technology”, the “Central Innovation Programme for SMEs” (ZIM), and the current funding guideline “Medical Technology Solutions for Child-Appropriate Healthcare”. Employees of the project sponsor Health Industry of the BMBF and of the ZIM project sponsor of the BMWi will be on hand to offer help with filing applications. In addition, representatives of various public institutions will provide information about their advisory services and share their expert knowledge about development, certification, reimbursement, and entering into and monitoring markets.
The Federal Government’s offer of information is directed at medical technology companies, particularly R&D employees, but also those working in regulatory affairs, reimbursement, and product management.
What requirements do clinical trials have to meet? How does a product become reimbursable? How does the conformity assessment procedure work? Representatives from the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM) and the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA), with regard to Medicinal Products and Medical Devices (ZLG) will be available for one-on-one discussions about the path of an innovation from research to supply.
