BGS Beta-Gamma-Service GmbH & Co. KG – Pioneer in Radiation Technology
In medicine, the use of sterile products and medical disposables is a matter of course. Medical devices today are multifunctional and are manufactured from a very wide variety of materials. Despite their frequently complex geometrical structures, every part of them has to be sterile. The requirements for sterility are established by numerous standards, laws and regulations. In the biosciences and pharmacy, too, sterile materials and equipment are indispensable for research and processing.
We are the specialists for the sterilisation of sensitive goods such as medical devices, in-vitro diagnostics and consumables for laboratories and biotechnology, using accelerated electrons (beta rays) and gamma rays.
A broad range of medical devices, e.g. implants and prostheses, catheters, cannulas, blood tube systems, infusion and respiratory systems, instruments, gloves, materials for surgical dressing can be sterilised without any residues. The irradiation of the products takes place packed on pallets or in boxes and is completed within a few hours.
As a pioneer and expert in the industry, we are offering our customers an “all-round care package" since 1981.
BGS operates a gamma plant in Wiehl near Cologne and eight electron accelerators at its three locations in Germany (Wiehl, Bruchsal, Saal).
